Fishing rod and licence in Faro: we apply for your shore fishing licence, and you pick up the rod at our shop near the airport.
The fishing kit includes:

- Reel with 120 m of 0.35 mm line, ready to use

- Accessory kit with hooks, weights and soft lures with built-in hooks
Easy for beginners, children and adults. The rod is telescopic, so it packs down small and fits in any car. Bait is not included.
Fishing licence included:
Annual licence for fishing from the shore (pesca lúdica apeada) for one person, valid across all of mainland Portugal. Issued online by the DGRM. We apply for you.

- Valid only for the name and passport used to apply, up to 2 rods, plus one child under 16

Fishing rod rental in Faro
Our fishing rod rental in Faro gives you a complete shore fishing kit, so you can cast from the beach without packing a rod in your luggage. Collect it at our shop 1.5 km from Faro Airport, and you can be fishing at Praia de Faro the same afternoon.

Where to fish near Faro
Praia de Faro, a long sandy beach on the island just over the bridge by the airport, faces the open Atlantic and is the easiest place to cast from the shore. In general, early morning and evening, on a rising tide, are the best times, so check the tide table for Faro before you go. The Ria Formosa lagoon is a protected natural park, so read the local signs before you fish there.
Fishing licence in Portugal
To fish from the shore in Portugal you need a recreational fishing licence (pesca lúdica apeada). Visitors can apply online through the DGRM licence service at least five working days before they fish. With this rental, the annual licence is included: we apply for it for you, so book at least five working days before you fish.
How fishing rod rental works
First, book the fishing kit online, then contact us on WhatsApp to pay in advance, so we can apply for your licence. Collect the kit at our shop on your way out of Faro Airport. Parking at the shop is free, and you can add a SUP or a soft surfboard to the same booking.
Good to know
Rinse the rod and reel with fresh water after fishing, and keep the line out of the sand. Respect the minimum fish sizes and catch limits, and take your rubbish and old line home with you.
